"The Art of the Feast"
Come celebrate art and food combined into one gloriously delectable day of making art together and breaking bread together! Bring your own food-oriented subject matter and potluck to share. Support local consciousness by using locally grown fruits, vegetables, breads, pies, wines, etc. as your artistic focus for the day.
Rhonda Kyrias will host the event and offer instruction on composition if you want. You will need a table top or floor easel, drop cloth and a small dinner tray for arranging your still life. You can work from photographs as well as your imagination. Bring your own art materials ... any medium. But, please no turpentine or terpenoid, odorless or otherwise, use linseed oil instead. Our workshops promote healthy working environments for all.
There will be a casual critique at the end of the day. Art made at this event will be considered for an MCAA group show at the Corner Gallery in November.
The Ukiah Art Center will also be accepting entries into their November exhibit which is also food related.
Registration for “Art of the Feast” begins immediately for members at a fee of $20.00 (nonmembers can register starting August 5 for $35.00). The class is limited to 25 participants; don’t miss out!
